  19. YGM stands for 'You've Got Mail'.
  20. It checks your POP mailboxes for new mails so that you do not have to
  21. start your favourite yet sometimes bulky mail client just for this.
  22.  
  23. YGM shows you how many mails are waiting in your mailboxes for download
  24. and their approximate size.
  25.  
  26. YGM is also useful for email providers who require a POP3 authentication
  27. before you are allowed to send emails over their SMTP servers, a security
  28. feature also known as 'SMTP-after-POP'.

  31. EINFÜHRUNG

  33. YGM steht für 'You've Got Mail' ('Du hast Post' oder auch 'e-m@il für
  34. Dich' ;-).
  35. Es prüft die eigenen POP-Mailboxen auf neue EMails, so daß dafür nicht
  36. extra der sonst bevorzugte aber manchmal etwas voluminöse EMail-Client
  37. gestartet werden muß.

  39. YGM zeigt an, wie viele EMails in den eigenen Mailboxen auf den Download
  40. warten, sowie deren ungefähre Größe.

  42. YGM ist außerdem bei EMail-Providern nützlich, die eine POP3-Authentifi-
  43. zierung erfordern, bevor EMails über deren SMTP-Server verschickt werden
  44. können, ein Sicherheits-Feature, das auch als 'SMTP-after-POP' bekannt
  45. ist.

  48. REQUIREMENTS

  50. ° AmigaOS 2.04 or higher - AmigaOS 3.5 or higher recommended.
  51. ° AmiTCP 4 compatible TCP/IP stack
  52. ° ReAction classes or fgui.library V1.x (included in this distribution)
  53. ° An Internet connection and a mail account with POP3 access

  56. CHANGES SINCE V2.2
  57.  
  58. ° The connection with a mail server can now be stopped *immediately* by
  59.   hitting the 'Stop' button - this eliminates waiting for a timeout.
  60. ° Checking the current mailbox can now be skipped by hitting the new 'Skip'
  61.   button.
  62. ° The mailbox status gadget now has a vertical scroll gadget when using the
  63.   ReAction GUI module.
  64. ° The GUI will now refresh immediately after a resize when YGM is busy
  65.   talking to a mail server.
  66. ° Each line in the ACCESSFILE may now also contain an 'Alias' and a
  67.   'Disable' field.
  68. ° Leading and trailing blanks in fields of ACCESSFILE lines will now be
  69.   ignored too.
  70. ° Usernames and passwords specified in the ACCESSFILE may contain the
  71.   character '#' now.
  72.   If an ACCESSFILE line does not contain all necessary values (username,
  73.   password, server) a specific message will be written to the logfile.
  74. ° The argument BUSYICON has been added to specify a different Icon image
  75.   when YGM is querying the mail server.
  76. ° The Menu 'Mailbox' with its item 'Execute RUNCOMMAND' has been added to be
  77.   able to execute the program or script specified with RUNCOMMAND if at
  78.   least one mailbox being queried has new or old mail.
  79. ° The Menu 'Window' with its items 'Snapshot' and 'UnSnapshot' has been
  80.   added allowing to fix and free the GUI position and dimension.
  81. ° YGM's AppIcon position can now be fixed and freed using the appropriate
  82.   Workbench menu items under OS3.5.
  83. ° YGM will now remember checked mails by default even when the program has
  84.   been stopped and restarted.
  85. ° Specifying DELAY with values smaller than 50 didn't work properly.
  86. ° YGM now expects V3.x GUI modules.
  87. ° YGM now expects V2.x language catalogs.
